Farmer's work in Brigham in Boston is almost the same compared to the international work because he is trying to help a lot of people as much as he can in both place but we can notice that he is more concern about international people ( mostly Haitiens people) mainly because they do not have many access in medical care like patients in Boston.
About the irony of Alix's driven in a dangerous manner to get a place for Farmer to help save patient's lives, we can say that by driving like that you can hurt somebody else but he did not; he was driven fast or dangerously if not they might have not be able to save John. Also , we can see in the sense that by driving dangerously, rapidly, his goal was just to save John, so he did not put in his mind that driven like that can have a bad effect, that he can kill more than one people while wanted to save the live on just one person.
Delivery of medical care can be different in Haiti ( from Boston) in the sense that patients have to walk many miles to get treated and sometimes Farmer himseld is obliged to go out in order to treat them. the technology is also very old. For instance, Farmer was taking supplies like medecines from Boston in order to go until Haiti with these medecines on the purpose to treat the patients.
